Q: How many strands of hair do I need for a full head installation?
A: The average head of hair uses between 1-2 packs (100 – 200 strands) of Fusion-Locks and Link-Locks and (40-80 peices) of Tape-In extensions. However, depending on the length and thickness of the client's hair, these numbers will vary.
Q: What is “Remy Hair?
A: Remy hair is the highest grade of quality for 100% human hair. Before a head of hair is cut from a donor, it is braided or placed in a ponytail. After it’s removed, this head of hair is kept bundled while it’s processed and prepared for use as hair extensions. Because the hair is cut with all the cuticles facing the same direction, remy hair resists tangling and matting.
Q: How many strands come in each package?
A: Fusion-Locks and Link-Locks extensions come with 100 strands per pack. Tape-In extensions come with 40 wefts per pack.
Q: Which color should I choose?
A: Lexi Locks offers a wide variety of shades and colors to choose from. Colors will vary and can appear different online, depending on the computer screen or device you are using. Lighting on your phone, computer, and in the photos can alter the appearance of hair colors. Color Matching by email or online cannot be guaranteed for these reasons. To ensure a perfect match, please use our color Ring. You can send us a photo of your hair in natural sun light for an online color consultation. Email: Customerservice@lexilocks.com for a consultation. Remember, since the hair is 100% human, you can color the hair to the level you choose as well.
Q: What’s the difference between Link-Locks and Fusion-Locks methods?
A: Our Link-Lock method is also referred to as the “beaded” method. This is because it utilizes tiny metal beads that hold the hair in place. It also works without heat and glue, making the removal process much faster and easier. Our Fusion-Lock method uses 100% Keratin tips, applied to the hair strands, make it easy to hide and use.
Q: Will hair extensions damage my hair?
A: No. If they’re installed correctly and properly maintained, your hair won’t be harmed. For more thorough information about caring for your hair and extensions, feel free to visit our Hair Care Page
Q: How long does it take to install hair extensions?
A: This depends on a number of variables including the method, the amount of hair, and the stylist who is applying them. Clip-Ins install in only a few minutes. A full head of Tape-Ins can install in an hr or less. A full head of Link-Locks extensions installs in roughly 2.5 to 3 hours, and a full head of Fusion-Locks takes about 3 to 4 hours.
Q: What can I do with my hair once the extensions are in?
A: Essentially, anything you’d do with your own hair, whether it’s curling, blow-drying, flat-ironing, or styling. Just remember to follow your stylist's recomendations and the Hair Care Guide.
Q: Can I brush my hair with extensions in place? Can I color my hair extensions?
A: Yes! We recommend all new customers purchase our extension brush to ensure proper care and maintenance for their hair. While brushing, hold the hair at the roots and brush from the ends working up.
A: Yes! This service should only be preformed by a Hair Stylist Pro. If you decide to color your extensions, use only a semi- or demi- permanent hair color to do it. NEVER lift color, only deposit it. Make sure to stay within two shades of the hair’s original color and ALWAYS perform a strand test first, to ensure that you’ll be comfortable with the results.
